According to one of Research Frontier’s clients, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is the No. 1 most-liked manager in MLB, with an ever-impressive likability score of 8.4 on a 10.0 scale.
Most fans cite his biggest strength to be Roberts’ ability to efficiently motivate players. Furthermore, a whopping 94% of fans believe the Okinawa, Japan native puts the team in the best position to win. The same data also cites the fact that 93% of fans say they would not replace Roberts if provided with the opportunity.
And to be fair, Roberts should be well-liked for several reasons. He is considered a good manager by many due to his high winning percentage, leadership, and ability to manage a talented team.
He has led the Dodgers to two World Series titles, nine postseason appearances, and four National League pennants. The manager known for building strong relationships with players and creating a positive environment in the clubhouse also boasts a .627 regular-season winning percentage with the Dodgers, the best among active managers and the best in AL/NL history among those who have managed at least 1,000 games.

This is further backed up by the previously mentioned dataset – when asked about his handling of the bullpen and young talent, Roberts earned a solid eight out of ten.
Roberts was also the first minority manager in Dodgers history, hired in 2015. He most recently led his team to win a World Series title against the New York Yankees during 2024, the most recent Major League Baseball season.
