Karinchak was sidelined most of the 2024 season with a shoulder injury, and appeared in just seven games for Triple-A Columbus.
The reliever was drafted by Cleveland in ninth round of the 2017 MLB draft, and made his debut in 2019. Karinchak spent five seasons with the big league club, his best year was in 2022, where he posted a 2.08 ERA in 38 appearances.
Karinchak finished his time in Cleveland with 98 strikeouts, 15 saves and a 3.31 ERA in 165.2 innings.
The Guardians had announced earlier in the offseason that they had non-tendered RHP James Karinchak, making him an unrestricted free agent.
