Sorry ladies, but Aaron Rodgers is off of the market.
The New York Jets quarterback dropped the bombshell on the Monday, Dec. 23 episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
The 41-year-old’s new love interest is named Brittani. He then revealed that he has changed from in-person mall shopping for Christmas gifts to ordering them online.
“There was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn’t shown up yet,” he said. “I was waiting on this to show up, it showed up today.”
McAfee was caught off guard, and AJ Hawk, McAfee’s cohost, and Rodgers’ ex-teammate then jokingly asked, “Spears?”
“Not Brittany Spears, no, this is Brittani with an ‘i,'” Rodgers clarifies, adding she doesn’t watch The Pat McAfee Show nor does she have social media
“It’s a good feeling boys. It is,” he said when the two make fun of him for being “in love.”
Rodgers’ off-the-field life is always in the news.
Rodgers is not close with his family. He is often criticized for being anti-vaccine and doing hallucinogens. Rodgers has also dated high-profile celebrities, including former race car driver Danica Patrick and actress Olivia Munn. His most recent public relationship was with actress Shailene Woodley. The pair broke up in February 2022.
None of Rodgers’s past lovers have ever spoken in so much detail about their relationship, but Woodley had some words to say recently about the two’s time together.
“I had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022,” the actress said, mentioning the quarterback by name. “I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing. That was the lowest low of my life.”
In the Netflix docuseries Aaron Rodgers: Enigma, Rodgers opens up about his dating life, too, saying he “hated” the stardom that came with winning the Super Bowl in 2010, infamously being part of State Farm commercials, and winning his first NFL MVP Award in 2011.
“I always find it interesting when people say, in reference to the off-the-field attention, ‘Well, this is what you signed up for,’ ” Rodgers says. “I say f— that, I never signed up for that,” Rodgers contends. “I signed up for football because I love the game and I got great at it because I’m hyper-competitive and super-motivated. But there’s this whole other part that comes with it that’s a lot of great stuff and a lot of f—ing weird stuff.”
Rodgers also discusses his reaction to having paparazzi follow him at the peak of his career, notably when trying to date. “I didn’t do myself any favors with some of the girls I dated after that that were in the public eye,” he contends.
It is unclear what comes next for Rodgers’ football career after this season. The Jets are currently 4-11.
