‘We Have What He Needs’: Dodgers Confident in Aggressive Pursuit of Juan Soto

The Los Angeles Dodgers plan to be very aggressive in their pursuit of Juan Soto, per MLB insider Mike Rodriguez. The New York Mets and New York Yankees will also be offering considerable contracts to Soto as the East Coast clubs try to snag the star.

Dodgers Plan to Be 'Very Aggressive' in Pursuit of Juan Soto: Report | Dodgers NationBefore the World Series even concluded, there were reports that the Dodgers were interested in signing the star. Just like the Fall Classic, the battle for Soto will be the West Coast versus the East Coast.

Soto is looking for two things in his next team. One, a massive contract. Two, a winning team. The Dodgers have the ability to do both.

When the speculation first began about the Dodgers signing Soto, it seemed unlikely that the Dominican star would land in Los Angeles.

But recent events say otherwise. Originally, the likelihood of Soto becoming a Dodgers seemed slim given he and Mookie Betts are both right fielders.

But earlier this week, general manager Brandon Gomes revealed Betts would be moving to the infield for 2025.

Could they be making room for Soto? It’s evident the Dodgers are seriously considering adding the Dominican star, but the tale of the offseason is always a tricky one.

The Dodgers are also reportedly interested in signing star shortstop Willy Adames. The team has already made a proposal to Adames, but no progress has been made as of yet.

Los Angeles will never have a shortage of stars as the Dodgers are also the reported favorites to land Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki.

Along with showing interest in two highly-touted free agents and the 23-year-old international phenom, the front office also has to decide whether to keep or let go of key players from 2024 who are now free agents.

Those free agents include Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty, Blake Treinen, Joe Kelly, Teoscar Hernández, and Kiké Hernández.

The offseason frenzy has just begun for the Dodgers. Regardless of the outcome, it’s evident the 2025 season will be an exciting year for the reigning World Series champions.
