On the latest episode of Hard Knocks, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson appears to declare that he would love to stay with the team after this year. After signing on a one-year, Wilson made a bet on himself that he could bounce back and earn his spot with the Steelers or another team, and his play this season has proven there is more juice left to squeeze out of the 36-year-old.
During the opening of Wilson and his wife Ciara’s first ‘Why Not You’ center in Pittsburgh, Wilson was approached by a kid as he was signing items and talking to them. He was asked if he would re-sign with the Steelers, and his response made it clear he wanted to stay in Pittsburgh.
“Hopefully, I love it here,” Wilson said.
Since coming in as the starter, Wilson has powered the Steelers offense to explosives all over the field, even if their boom-or-bust potential renders them just an average offense instead of one of the top offenses in football as it stands.
Wilson’s deal will not be cheap when he does re-sign, but the Steelers are experiencing the best quarterback play they have since Ben Roethlisberger left the city.
