EXCLUSIVE: Deion Sanders explains why Bill Belichick joining UNC is game-changing

Former coaches and players have been reacting to Bill Belichick becoming the new head coach for the North Carolina Tar Heels, and Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders was no exception.

Sanders is currently in the middle of rebuilding the Buffaloes program.

They finished with a 9-3 record in 2024 after going 4-8 in 2023.

Sanders seemingly transformed the program overnight by taking the Buffaloes from being a bottom-dwelling Big 12 team to a competitive media sensation.

He offered his opinion on Belichick joining the college football ranks in a social media post.

“Coach Bill Belichick is a coaches Coach to All us Coaches along with my man Coach Saban!” Sanders wrote. “They’re game changers and they know how to move people forward. I know this is a great thing for College Football & for North Carolina. God bless u Coach, if you’re happy I am 2!”

It will be interesting to see how Belichick adapts to the college game after taking a year off from coaching.

North Carolina should have an easier time recruiting with an all-time great coach looking to bring the program back to the top of the ACC.
