While Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, continue to stay out of the spotlight this offseason, they’re making sure their moms feel the love this Mother’s Day.
The 35-year-old All-Pro and his brother, Jason Kelce, 37, invited Donna Kelce to be this week’s guest on their “New Heights” podcast. During the show, the Kelce brothers asked Donna, 72, what moms really want on Mother’s Day.
“They want to be with their with their children which doesn’t happen often when they’re older,” she answered. “But basically I think moms just want to be around their families.”
“If you can’t see ’em, call ’em. They wanna hear from you,” Donna added.
Much like Travis and his mother, Swift shares an incredibly close relationship with her mom, Andrea Swift.
After Swift became the youngest artist to ever win the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2010, she sent a strong message to Andrea, who’s been married her father, Scott Swift, since 1988.
“This is for all those times that you said I could do whatever I wanted in life,” she said of her parents. “And my mom, you’re my best friend.”
Save for a quick shoutout to celebrate her best friend Selena Gomez’s new album, Swift hasn’t posted on social media since her record-breaking “Eras Tour” came to a close in December.
However, Taylor Nation, the pop star’s official fan club run by her management team, shared a heartfelt message to commemorate Mother’s Day on Sunday.
Taylor Nation posted a photo of Andrea with her daughter and wrote, “We’re taking this chance to say: we hope all the moms and motherly figures out there have the best day today 💛💛.”
The post racked up nearly a 1 million likes on Instagram with fans immediately recognizing the reference to the singer’s 2008 song, “The Best Day,” which Swift wrote about her mother.
One fan commented, “So grateful that I got to see this song performed live with my mom back in 2013. Truly one of the best days!! 🫶.” One person wrote, “Thank you Andrea for being an exceptional mother to Taylor and for staying back a watching her shine.”
