He’s such a fighter.
TikTok user Caitlin Elizabeth was out and about one day when she noticed something small and furry lying in a pile of trash. She got a little closer — and realized it was a newborn kitten.
“It’s still alive, I cannot believe it,” Caitlin said in a video on TikTok. “I saw it laying right there, and I thought it was dead. It is freaking ice cold, poor little baby.”
Caitlin rushed the kitten back to her car. She’d cared for bottle babies before, so she was prepared, but she was also worried. The kitten was so small and had been out in the cold for who knows how long.
“He’s been meowing so hard his mouth is dirty,” Caitlin said as she drove the kitten home.
@summergirl01297 I dont really hate cats 😂 but it does get a little old when they aren’t smart with thier babies. #fyp #kittens #cold #bottlebaby
Caitlin was able to locate the kitten’s mama, but unfortunately, she had no interest in caring for her baby — so Caitlin made it her mission to care for him instead.
She realized that his stomach was full of dirt, which he’d been eating to try and survive. She managed to get him all cleaned up, and as soon as he was clean and warm, he started wiggling around like crazy. Caitlin wasn’t sure at first if the little guy was going to make it, but she knew one thing for sure — he was definitely a fighter.
@summergirl01297 He is doing well so far. #fyp #kitten #bottlebaby #ranchcats
So far, the kitten is doing pretty well. He’s eating well and doing his best to build up strength. Every time Caitlin goes to feed him, her own cat, Echo, comes over to watch. Echo herself was a bottle baby that Caitlin rescued in a similar fashion, and she’s fascinated by her new foster brother. It’s as if she remembers when she was a tiny bottle baby kitten — and is rooting for him to grow up just as big and strong as she did.
“I just cannot get over how obsessed Echo is with him,” Caitlin said.
@summergirl01297 Such a relief to see him doing better finally. Still not out of the woods these things tend to be up one minute and crashing the next so we’re just happy for a good day. #fyp #kitten #newborn #bottlebaby #update #fighter
The kitten isn’t out of the woods yet, but Caitlin and Echo are caring for him as best they can. He went from being cold and abandoned to safe and loved, and that’s what matters.
