Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens knows exactly what he’ll bring to the table in 2025 as part of Brian Schottenheimer’s offense…and he knows what CeeDee Lamb brings too.
And that is a lot of production.
With defenses only having to worry about Lamb last season, such was Dallas’ lack of weapons behind him, CeeDee was the main target, often doubled, yet still somehow managed to make play after play.
But now he has help from the dynamic and explosive Pickens, who gives Dak Prescott a genuine tandem that can strike fear.
With CeeDee able to be positioned anywhere across the formation and Pickens outside the numbers as a contested-catch beast who stretches the field vertically, the former Pittsburgh Steeler, in a conference call on Thursday, knows that defenses won’t be able to double both of them, and that is how the pair can feast.
“CeeDee is a super dynamic receiver, super dynamic person, player,” Pickens said. “I just feel like, schematically, you won’t be able to double everybody, so that’ll be a great thing for me and him.”
With Lamb the clear No. 1 in Dallas, registering over 100 receptions in each of the last three seasons, he will get his targets, but so too will Pickens.
Having had at least 800 receiving yards and 50 receptions in each of his first three seasons, Pickens has been a consistent contributor despite his on-field antics, shall we say.
It is worth remembering that he hasn’t had a quarterback like Prescott throwing him the ball either, so that alone suggests a host of possibilities for what Pickens could become in 2025.
Lamb is a bona fide All-Pro, and Pickens has shown he has immense talent in a poor Pittsburgh offense. Put them together, and the potential for offensive fireworks is tantalizing.
And remember, defenses can’t double everyone.
