The New England Patriots are enjoying a brief calm before the storm following the 2025 NFL draft.
The next phase of the offseason is underway now that May has arrived, and the Patriots’ spring will reach its next gear when the annual rookie minicamp begins on Friday. The three-day event will give New England fans their first glimpse at the likes of Will Campbell, TreVeyon Henderson, and Kyle Williams before the meaningful action begins.
Much like other teams around the NFL, the Patriots have made some post-draft moves to free up roster spots for incoming rookies. Interestingly enough, two veterans whom New England sent packing have already found a new home with another AFC franchise.
Titans Claim Former Patriots Mark Perry, Titus Leo Off Waivers
On Monday, the Patriots announced that they had placed safety Mark Perry and linebacker Titus Leo on waivers. It turns out that it only took the duo less than 24 hours to land another opportunity with head coach Mike Vrabel’s old team.
“(The Tennessee) Titans (have been) awarded Mark Perry and Titus Leo off waivers from the Patriots,” KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson reported on Tuesday.

Perry, 23, is a former Colorado/TCU product who began his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted last year. The Torrance, CA native was released as a part of the Dolphins’ final 53-man roster cuts, allowing him to join the Houston Texans right before September began.
Perry lasted in Houston for all of two weeks before the Patriots signed him to their practice squad. The 23-year-old defensive back didn’t end up playing a single snap for New England, though, spending the entire campaign on the sidelines before being kicked to the curb earlier this week despite signing a reserve/future contract in January.
Meanwhile, Leo is a former 2023 sixth-round pick by the Colts, who spent parts of two seasons in Indianapolis before arriving in New England back in November.
The ex-Wagner defender ended up making four appearances with the Patriots down the stretch. Most of his opportunities were played on special teams, culminating in four solo tackles, a broken-up pass, and a 68.2 Pro Football Focus pass rush grade.
The Titans were among one of the worst-graded teams in terms of pass rushing (T-28th) and coverage (22nd) in 2024, leaving it up to Leo and Perry to prove if they can help turn things around.
In the meantime, Patriots fans wish the duo nothing but the best as they turn their attention to the incoming group of New England rookies.
