For months, we were being sold this incredible boxing match between one of the greatest fighters of all time, Mike Tyson, and the supposed “new face” of boxing, Jake Paul.
It was billed as the best fight in years, and something that you absolutely had to watch if you didn’t want to miss out on the best sports story in ages.
In the end, what we got at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, was complete crap. Sounds a little bit like the Dallas Cowboys in 2024, does it not?
That was one of the main takeaways from fans on Friday night after Paul was named the winner in his match against ‘Iron Mike’ by unanimous decision.
While the fight was largely unwatchable, and left many viewers feeling dirty for having watched a 58-year-old man get into a fist fight, one of the common jokes being told came at the expense of Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are 3-6 this year, with their starting quarterback Dak Prescott ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery in the last week.
There is no clear path ahead for them this season, led by Cooper Rush under center and an aging and untalented roster.
When you compare that with what we saw on Friday night from Mike Tyson, it’s starting to feel like AT&T Stadium is more likely to turn into a home for the elderly than it is to house a championship team over the next few years.
