Pablo López, Simeon Woods Richardson and Joe Ryan shove in Twins’ 3-0 sweep over the Los Angeles Angels

The Twins’ three-game sweep of the Angels started with a solid outing courtesy of Pablo López and ended with complete domination from Simeon Woods Richardson and Joe Ryan.

López has solid start in first outing since returning from the injured list

López made his first start since returning from the 15-day injured list on Friday, where he threw 101 pitches and allowed two runs with six strikeouts in five innings as the Twins defeated the Los Angeles Angels 11-4. López struggled with command throughout the contest, allowing five hits and two walks.

It’s also worth noting López, who has a 2.08 ERA and 2.94 FIP with 20 strikeouts and four walks in 21 ⅓ innings this season, had to make extra pitches due to defensive mistakes from Edouard Julien and Ty France in the first two innings.

Woods Richardson earned the win in Game 2 of last weekend’s series, surrendering one run on four hits and zero walks with a season-high seven strikeouts in 5 â…“ innings en route to a 5-1 victory for Minnesota.

Woods Richardson, who threw 86 pitches Saturday, holds a 4.07 ERA with 26 strikeouts and six walks in 24 â…“ innings this season.

Ryan has his best start of the season, maybe even his career

The Twins saved their best start for last as Joe Ryan, who gave up six runs in five innings in his previous start against the Atlanta Braves, dominated en route to a 5-0 win for Minnesota against Los Angeles on Sunday.

Ryan, who has a 3.18 ERA with 39 strikeouts and four walks in 34 innings this year, threw seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk with a season-high 11 strikeouts and a career-high 26 whiffs on 98 pitches.

Twins set to compete in crucial series against division rival
