Dodgers’ $136 Million Star Pitcher Placed On 15-Day IL With Shoulder Injury

Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow 'highly unlikely' to pitch again with sprained elbow, Dave Roberts says - The Athletic

The Los Angeles Dodgers have dealt with pitching injuries dating all the way back to last season. Even with one of the deeper starting pitching staffs in baseball, the Dodgers have struggled to find consistent, healthy starting pitchers this season.

On Monday, they lost another arm.

Tyler Glasnow has landed on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder injury after leaving his most recent start early. Glasnow threw just 17 pitches in one inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday before being removed with shoulder discomfort.

Glasnow becomes the 13th Dodgers pitcher to hit the IL this season, which doesn’t consider Shohei Ohtani missing time on the mound as well. Right now, Glasnow is joined by Tony Gonsolin, Kyle Hurt, Clayton Kershaw, River Ryan, Blake Snell, Gavin Stone and a few others as Dodgers pitchers who have missed time this season.

Injuries are nothing new to Glasnow either. He missed time in 2024 with elbow and lower back injuries. His elbow injuries date back to 2019 when he first began experiencing forearm issues. In 2021, the righty underwent Tommy John surgery, and the injuries have since followed him.

It seems like this Dodgers pitching staff is cursed. They had nearly a dozen big league quality pitchers coming into the season, and they’re down to a handful of healthy ones.

Los Angeles is going to need to make a trade in the near future to shore up its pitching staff this season.
