Travis Kelce holds claim to being one of the NFL’s biggest stars and for good reason. He has become an integral part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynastic run in the AFC, winning three Super Bowls in the process. That does not keep him from staying in touch with the community around him. Kelce has a hand in a number of charitable motives though his kindness was misconstrued in a recent viral story.
The DailyMail reported that Kelce had teamed up with Foster Love to build a facility for homeless youth in the Kansas City area. Kelce received an abundance of praise for his actions, even getting a shoutout on “The Pat McAfee Show.” However, the story was not true. Kelce went on his New Heights podcast to address the situation.
“I gotta make a little statement in the don’t believe everything you read kids category, realm that you see online. Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not,” Kelce said. “I’m not even going to talk about it specifically, I don’t want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff.”
He then informed fans to keep up with his community outreach at the 87 and Running website. Regardless of the false information regarding this donation, his efforts remain an admirable piece of his story with the Chiefs. The future Hall of Famer has put together quite the résumé and will also leave the game as one of the best tight ends in league history. Unfortunately for Chiefs fans, there is a timer on that ultimate end after he announced that 2025 would be his final season.
If the evidence on the field is not enough, his romance with pop music megastar Taylor Swift has expanded his stardom to an entire new demographic. Both positively and negatively, Kelce has quite the following. No matter which side people fall on, it is clear Kelce’s concerns center on being represented correctly, which did not happen in this case.
