Dodgers to Call Up Top Prospect to Replace Blake Snell on Tuesday vs Nationals

Blake Snell lands on injured list after 2 weeks with Dodgers amid injury concerns - CHOSUNBIZ

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed left-hander Justin Wrobleski will start on Tuesday in place of two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell.

Snell was placed on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation. There was previous speculation that the Dodgers would use right-hander Landon Knack as Tuesday’s starter since he was at the White House visit with the team.

However, the defending champions will give Wrobleski the nod. Roberts said the Dodgers chose to start the left-hander Tuesday because that’s when he was schedule to do so at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers skipper did add that Knack is not in town for no reason, hinting toward the right-hander making a possible start on Wednesday. It was previously speculated that the Dodgers would have a bullpen game Wednesday, but it appears Knack is also an option to start.

Wrobleski last pitched for Oklahoma City on April 1. The left-hander allowed just three hits and no runs across 5.2 innings.

The 24-year-old logged a 3.76 ERA last season between Double-A and Triple-A. Wrobleski threw 104 strikeouts in 20 appearances (18 starts).

The southpaw joined the Dodgers on their trip to Japan, and was optioned to Triple-A soon after. Less than a month later, Wrobleski will get to make a big league start against the Washington Nationals.
