There’s no guarantee the Pittsburgh Steelers have any interest in trading Minkah Fitzpatrick.
But if they did at some point, it may be too late now.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette beat writer Ray Fittipaldo was asked in a recent mailbag if Minkah could be on the move.
“What’s the trade market for an aging safety with a $22 million cap hit?” Fittipaldo pondered. “I’ll tell you. Nonexistent.”
Well, he spelled that out pretty well for us.
Fitzpatrick recorded 17 interceptions in his first four seasons in Pittsburgh. But then he missed seven games in 2023 with injuries and didn’t have an INT.

In 2024, Fitzpatrick made 96 tackles and a single interception while appearing in all 17 regular season games.
Pittsburgh could save more than $15 million by trading Fitzpatrick.
The problem is that another team would have to take on his money, and Fittipaldo just doesn’t see that happening.
