Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge Predicted to Miss Out on MVP Award in 2025

Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani: Who had the more impressive season? | MLB on FOX

The 2024 World Series ended with Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeating Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees in five games.

It was a battle of heavyweights and two historic franchises, with the Dodgers coming out on top.

Moreover, both Judge and Ohtani won the MVP awards for their respective leagues. Judge finished the regular season with 58 home runs, 144 RBI and a .322 average, setting career highs in RBI and average.

Ohtani, in his first year with the Dodgers, hit 54 home runs with 130 RBU and 59 stolen bases with a .310 average, each of which was a career-high for him.

While it seems to be a popular prediction for them to repeat as MVPs, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand has both of them missing out on the award.

In Feinsand’s predictions, he has Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper winning the NL MVP award and Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. winning the AL MVP award.

In 2024, Judge had all 30 first-place votes for the AL MVP while Witt had all 30 second-place votes.

Harper, on the other hand, finished sixth in the NL MVP voting with 130 total points and no votes for first through third place.

Witt, who turns 25 in June, had 32 home runs with 109 RBI and 31 stolen bases while hitting .332. Harper hit 30 home runs with 87 RBI with a .285 average in 145 games, but Feinsand likes these two to dethrone Judge and Ohtani from the MVP award.
