Either you rolled your eyes or you nodded in agreement. Either way, stick with us here. This isn’t just New York Yankees bias. This is cold, hard stats.
The basis for this case comes from the stat Weighted Runs Created Plus. It’s a metric that measures how much offense an individual player creates for his team, and it’s adjusted for era-specific factors like hitting and pitching environments and ballparks.
The all-time leader in this statistic, with a 197 WRC+, is Babe Ruth. Sounds about right.
Next up is Ted Williams (188 WRC+).
And third on the all-time list is Judge, with a 174 WRC+.

Judge sits just ahead of Lou Gehrig (173), Rogers Hornsby (173) and Barry Bonds (172).
Mickey Mantle (170), Mike Trout (169), Ty Cobb (165) and Shoeless Joe Jackson (165) round out the top-10.
Ruth and Williams were both left-handed hitters, which would make Judge the top right-handed hitter in baseball history by this measure.
Of course, Judge’s career is still going. He could regress in the latter stages and fall down this list to some extent.
But so far, Judge has been remarkable.
The 6-foot-7 slugger has hit 315 home runs in 993 MLB games. he’s a career .288 hitter, with career marks of .406 on-base percentage and .604 slugging.
He broke Roger Maris’ AL home-run record in 2022 with 62, then hit another 58 last season with a career-best 144 RBI.
He even made the shift to centerfield last year, taking on a more taxing defensive role and still batting a career-high .322.
This is all just some food for thought as the 2025 MLB season gets underway. Don’t let Judge’s greatness pass you by.
