Pittsburgh Steelers guard Mason McCormick earned himself a pay raise after his rookie season. McCormick received a $819,102 bonus as part of his playing time and performance in his first season with the team. He is the second Steelers player to earn one this offseason along with George Pickens.
After James Daniels went down in Week 4 with a hand injury, McCormick started the rest of the way at right guard. Throughout the season, he played at right guard, a bit at left guard, and even saw snaps as the team’s sixth offensive lineman.
The 2024 fourth-round pick out of South Dakota State, McCormick was drafted to be a replacement for Daniels this upcoming season, but his impressive player throughout his first season earned him a likely starting spot in 2025,
McCormick is expected to be one of the players that can become a stalwart for the Steelers along their offensive line. That is why they drafted him along with Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu to help rebuild a once-stagnant group.
