Cowboys re-sign versatile lineman Brock Hoffman

Cowboys' Brock Hoffman says this Mike Tyson quote has motivated him through NFL journey

The Cowboys obviously have some big shoes to fill with the upcoming retirement for Zack Martin.

One of those players who could step up to replace him is Brock Hoffman. The Cowboys made sure he’s back on the roster for 2025, re-signing him on Tuesday.

The deal is expected considering Hoffman is an exclusive rights free agent. As long as the Cowboys plan on keeping the ERFA’s, they don’t have any options of playing elsewhere.

And in Hoffman’s case, the Cowboys certainly want him in the mix, especially considering how he filled in for Martin last season.

Hoffman started seven games last season at right guard, giving him nine total starts for his career.

Part of Hoffman’s value is not only his versatility – playing both center and guard – but his toughness and never-back-down mentality. More than that, the Cowboys also saw some success with Hoffman in the lineup as the running game improved dramatically down the stretch.

In 2025, Hoffman is expected to compete at guard or center, depending on what the Cowboys do with Cooper Beebe, who started last year at center for 16 games. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said the possibility of moving Beebe back to guard is on the table, but not for now.

During the offseason, it’s likely Hoffman will get the chance to compete at right guard, opposite Tyler Smith, who has made the Pro Bowl each of the last two years at left guard.
