The Green Bay Packers will have quite a few decisions to make this offseason. With free agency coming up quickly, there are a few players who have uncertain futures with the team.
One of those players is none other than starting center Josh Myers.
Meyers, a 26-year-old center, has been a solid piece of the Packers’ offensive line since being drafted with the No. 62 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It’s possible that Green Bay could bring him back, but there seems to be a better chance that he might leave town this offseason.
In the Green Bay Packers’ Wild Card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Myers suffered what looked like it could be a serious injury. However, he seems to have dodged a complete bullet and has received a major update about his health heading into free agency.
Green Bay Packers Star Receives Huge 2025 NFL Offseason Injury Update
According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Myers is perfectly healthy and is ready for free agency to open. He is expected to receive quite a bit of interest on the open market.
“Packers center Josh Myers has started 50 games for Green Bay since 2022, so he should have a strong market, too. While Myers went down for what appeared to be a significant injury in the playoffs, I’m told he came out of the game unscathed and has no injury from the play. He’s getting no treatment and is completely healthy entering free agency.”
Needless to say, it will be interesting to see what the Green Bay Packers choose to do with him in free agency. Do they let him walk and have to fill in the center position? Or, do they pay up and bring him back for another run?
Either option would make sense for the Packers.
It is widely expected that Green Bay is going to be very active throughout the offseason.
They have needs on both sides of the football and they have a lot more cap space to work with than they have had in recent years. If the Packers want to get aggressive, they have the ability to do so.
All of that being said, one of the first decisions for Brian Gutekunst and the front office will be what to do with Myers.
Don’t be surprised if the Green Bay Packers decide to move on instead of paying the bigger bucks that he will likely be offered elsewhere.
