As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to tweak the roster for 2025, they’ve locked down two coaches who were important parts of the team last season.
The Steelers announced on Sunday that they have re-signed two defensive coaches ahead of the offseason.
Karl Dunbar and Denzel Martin will both be back next season as reported by PennLive’s Nick Farabaugh, Dunbar will return as the defensive line coach and Martin will continue on as the outside linebackers coach.
“Dunbar and Martin represent the two strongest position groups on the team, with the development of all the defensive linemen and outside linebackers under the two becoming stars and solid contributors. Now, they get to stay on board the staff with new deals.” Farabaugh wrote.
Both coaches have reportedly been working at the NFL Combine this past week before they were officially re-signed to the staff.
With both men present in Indianapolis, it’s possible that the team is considering a top defensive player with their first pick in this year’s draft at No. 21.
Both coaches have been credited with developing players such as T.J. Watt, Javon Hargrave, Nick Herbig, and Alex Highsmith.
