A longstanding debate among NFL fans is whether Travis Kelce or Rob Gronkowski is the better tight end.
Gronkowski was often regarded as the best blocking tight end while he was with the New England Patriots — a role Kelce hasn’t really taken on during his career.
Gronkowski also has 15 more touchdowns than Kelce in fewer games.
During FOX’s pregame coverage leading up to Super Bowl LIX, Gronkowski discussed the tight end debate, and made an admission about where he sees himself.
“I consider myself to be the best tight end to ever play the position,” Gronkowski said. “But after watching this guy (Kelce) the past few years, I’m starting to question that.”
If the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Kelce will have as many rings and Gronk with four.
A win for the Chiefs also means they’d be the first team to three-peat as Super Bowl champions — something the Patriots and Gronkowski never did over the course of their 20-year run of dominance in the NFL.
Regardless of who people think is the better tight end, both Gronkowski and Kelce have put together Hall-of-Fame-worthy careers.
