REPORT: Deion Sanders becoming the head coach of the Cowboys, trading Dak to the Titans for the No.1 overall pick, and drafting Shedeur

Deion Sanders looking on (left). Dak Prescott looking ahead (right).A blockbuster trade proposal has the Dallas Cowboys trading star quarterback Dak Prescott to a longtime rival and then uniting Deion Sanders with Shedeur Sanders at the professional level.

On Monday, news emerged that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke to Deion Sanders about the team’s head coaching vacancy that opened up after the team parted ways with Mike McCarthy.

If Jones were to make a big splash and bring “Coach Prime” to the NFL ranks, the two sides would obviously have to decide on the future of Dak Prescott. The quarterback’s four-year, $240 million extension kicks in next season.

The popular MLFootball X/Twitter account proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has Dallas sending Prescott to the NFC East rival New York Giants in exchange for the No. 3 pick and fourth-round picks in 2025 and 2026.

In this scenario, the Cowboys would use the No. 3 pick on Shedeur Sanders and unite him with his father in the pros.

It’s a fascinating proposal, but there’s no way the Cowboys would be able to guarantee themselves Shedeur Sanders ahead of the draft. That is unless they somehow obtained the No. 1 pick from the Tennessee Titans, who also need a quarterback (ditto for the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 2 pick).

For now, Jerry Jones’ main goal is to figure out McCarthy’s replacement at HC. Chances are he won’t actually hire Coach Prime, who has zero coaching experience at the NFL level.

Dak Prescott Had Frustrating 2024 Season With Cowboys

Even before he suffered a hamstring injury that required season-ending surgery, Prescott and the Cowboys never once resembled title contenders.

The 31-year-old completed 64.7 percent of pass attempts for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Prescott’s 86.0 passer rating also marked the lowest feat of his career.

But if the Cowboys were to shop Prescott, you better believe there would be considerable in the three-time Pro Bowler.
