The Patriots completed an interview with Mike Vrabel on Thursday — in Boston.

Who cares that it was in Boston? Is there a way things would be impacted by it being in Boston? Why did we mention that it was in Boston?

New England made the odd decision to announce that detail itself.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss attempted to provide some clarity to that little nugget, sharing the lesser-known information that Patriots owner Robert Kraft lives in Chestnut Hill, Mass. — perhaps meaning the interview was held at his home to add more of a personal dynamic.

Vrabel, of course, previously played for New England and has a long-standing relationship with ownership.

The Patriots are expected to move quickly through the interview process, mostly because everyone thinks they’re just going to hire Vrabel. Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is included in that group, as he declined to even interview with the club.

New England currently has one interview left, which will take place Friday with Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson — soon after which a decision should take place.
