“In Serious Jeopardy” Packers Dealt Brutal Blow In Practice Ahead Of Eagles Contest(Report)

The Green Bay Packers are getting ready for their biggest game to date this season.  It may be the biggest game to date of the Love-LaFleur era.  However, there is going to be a few hills to climb if Green Bay wants to upset the 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles.

Another hill surfaced today.

Breaking: Packers Dealt Brutal Blow In Practice (Report)

On Thursday, 49 of the Packers’ 52 active players were available to practice. That list includes Christian Watson, who has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

However, one of the players who missed practice is in serious jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game:

T.J. Slaton injury update

The defensive lineman was held out of practice for the second straight day.

He appeared on the injury report Wednesday with an ankle injury.

The move to Jeff Hafley’s 4-3 scheme was supposed to benefit Slaton. It seemed he would be perfect for a more offensive role in the interior, due to his size and physicality. Coming out of training camp, Slaton earned the starting job next to Clark, raising expectations that he would have a breakthrough season.

Here is a look at his stats this year:

Still, losing interior presence against a team like Philadelphia (with Saquon Barkley) isn’t ideal.  With Slaton missing his second straight day, his status for Sunday is in serious jeopardy.

He will need to practice on Friday in some capacity to have a shot to play.
