If the Green Bay Packers make a deep run in the NFL Playoffs, it will be one of the most improbable runs in recent NFL history. Prior to their Week 18 loss to the Chicago Bears, it was announced that two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander was having season-ending knee surgery.
Of course, they had been without their best cornerback for the better part of the season. After missing a couple of games early in the season with a groin injury, Alexander tore his PCL in Week Eight. He attempted to try to rehab the injury without surgery, but he and the Packers were forced to accept the inevitable.
Now his future in Green Bay is in serious doubt.
The Christian Watson Injury Presents Another Dilemma for the Green Bay Packers
On Monday, it was revealed that 2022 second round wide receiver Christian Watson had suffered a torn ACL in the loss to Chicago. After missing Green Bay’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings with a bruised knee, Watson attempted to make his return to the field because Romeo Doubs was ruled out with an illness.
During a play in the second quarter, Watson was running a route but fell to the ground as he grabbed his knee in pain. There was no contact on the play. His knee just gave up.
Of course, from the moment it happened, many assumed that it was a serious injury as most non-contact knee injuries indicate structural damage.
Watson, of course, will miss Green Bay’s games in the NFL Playoffs and could even miss part of the 2025 season.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want the Team to Acquire Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill
The Miami Dolphins suffered a humiliating defeat to Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in their Week 18 game. They finish the 2024 NFL season 8-9 and out of the playoffs.
After the game, eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill made it clear that he is done playing for Miami, despite the fact that he is under contract for the next two seasons.

With Watson out for at least the beginning of next season, and based on the struggles with consistency the Packers wide receivers had this year, many Green Bay fans would like to see the team acquire him via trade this offseason:

At this point, the packers have to inquire on Tyreek hill. You now know that you won’t have Watson damn near all of next season and it’s his deep threat ability that opens the offense up. With the scheme GB run, Hill would fit right in.

I hope he is not, but if Watson is out to begin next season. I think we look at trading for Tyreek Hill. @packers

It is worth noting that Hill comes with a cap hit of $28.6 million in 2025 and $51.8 million in 2026. However, his dead cap hit in 2026 is only $15.5 million, meaning that whatever team does acquire him will likely have him for just one season (unless they restructure his contract).
