BREAKING NEWS: 5 players the Pittsburgh Steelers must re-sign in 2025

With 21 players set to hit free agency in 2025, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ front office undoubtedly has their work cut out for them. Every key position for the Black and Gold is poised to lose significant contributors, but these five players must remain with the team heading into the 2025 season.

Fans may be clamoring for the team to re-sign Russell Wilson, but the future of the Pittsburgh Steelers likely revolves around developing Justin Fields. His athleticism, coupled with being 11 years younger than Wilson, should make Fields the clear and obvious choice for re-signing.

RB Jaylen Warren:

Jaylen Warren has seemingly proven himself to be the Steelers’ running back of the future over Najee Harris in recent weeks. Harris may command a higher payday than Warren, and a situation where the Steelers can pay less for more seems too good to pass up.

Roberts has established himself as one of the best defenders against the run. The Pittsburgh Steelers should prioritize re-signing him as they prepare for the 2025 offseason.

The Steelers’ secondary and pass defense was an area of concern heading into the 2024 season, and it has completely collapsed to close out the year. Jackson, however, has been a bright spot, leading the team with five interceptions.

WR Scotty Miller:

The Steelers’ wide receiver room was undoubtedly one of the worst in the NFL this season. However, one player who stepped up when called upon was Scotty Miller, making him worth retaining.
