FRISCO — Jourdan Lewis has been one of the better players for the Cowboys this season.

The nickel corner ranks fifth on the team with 71 tackles. He’s second in passes defended (seven) with an interception and a forced fumble.

While that performance didn’t earn him a spot in the Pro Bowl, he did pick up a local award Thursday.

Lewis received the team’s Good Guy Award voted on by the Dallas chapter of the Pro Football Writers Association for his cooperation with the media over the course of the season.

“It’s just to represent the team well, to make sure that the brand is protected and make sure that my teammates are protected,’’ Lewis said of his approach.

“That’s what I want to be known as, an upstanding guy that loves his teammates and loves his team and makes sure that we’re represented the right way.

“Whenever I get a chance, when you want to talk to me win, lose or draw, I want to make sure I put my best foot forward for everybody that’s involved with this organization.’’
