The Green Bay Packers are 11-5 with a matchup against the 4-12 Chicago Bears on the docket to end their 2024 NFL regular season. Of course, they have already clinched a spot in the NFL Playoffs and will continue playing the following week in the Wild Card round. Chicago, meanwhile, will start their search for yet another head coach and begin their annual quest to “win the offseason.”
While Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has stated that his team’s attitude is to “win every game” including their regular season finale, there is no doubt that Green Bay is looking ahead just a little to who they will face in the postseason.
The reality of their situation is that they most likely are destined for a Wild Card round matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. If they come out of the opening round with a win, they also face the probability of playing both the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings if they are to reach the Super Bowl.
That, obviously, will be no easy task, and LaFleur has brought in a few extra set of eyes throughout the season to help give his team an extra leg up. They will be even more crucial once the postseason begins.
Former Aaron Rodgers Favorite Luke Getsy Has Returned to the Green Bay Packers
On Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic posted on social media that he saw former Packers quarterback coach Luke Getsy in the building.
Just saw Luke Getsy walk into Packers practice. He was the QB coach here during Aaron Rodgers’ last two MVP seasons. Recently the Bears and Raiders OC.

Getsy was Green Bay’s quarterback coach during Aaron Rodgers‘ last two MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, he was hired away from the Packers to serve as the Bears offensive coordinator, but he was fired after just one year.
He was then hired to be the Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator for the 2024 NFL season, but was fired after they started the season 2-7.
During his press conference on Friday, LaFleur revealed that he had hired Getsy weeks ago to be a defensive consultant, just as he hired the defensive-minded Robert Saleh to be an offensive consultant after he was fired as the head coach of the New York Jets.
LaFleur said that Getsy has been working with the defense virtually since his re-hiring, and that Friday was his first day back in the building.
Green Bay Packers Fans React to the Return of Luke Getsy
While Getsy was not unpopular during his time in Green Bay, his lack of success as an offensive coordinator for two different NFL teams have fans a little wary of what exactly he can bring to the team:

Not sure I am big on Getsy being back in the building. Wasn’t a huge fan of his when he was here and he hasn’t exactly been great anywhere else he’s gone. https://t.co/i7BFhpskfM
