Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs’ Extravagant Christmas Gift to Entire Offensive Line Goes Viral

The Green Bay Packers made the difficult decision to move on from Aaron Jones, the third-leading rusher in franchise history, this past offseason.

Green Bay wanted Jones to take a pay cut down to $6 million, but the former Pro Bowl running back did not want to, as he had already taken a substantial pay cut to stay with the Packers in 2023.

The announcement of Jones’ release came hours after the team announced that they had signed 2022 NFL rushing leader Josh Jacobs to a four-year contract worth $48 million.

Jones, of course, subsequently signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

But while Jones is still incredibly popular among Packers fans, Jacobs is quickly becoming a fan-favorite himself thanks to his dominating performance this season and how good of a person that he is.

For the majority of the Aaron Rodgers Era in Green Bay, the Packers offense was known as a pass-first unit, and for good reason.

Rodgers, along with Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, and many other former Pro Bowl pass catchers, were historically proficient in the passing game.

But with Jordan Love under center and with Jacobs at running back, the Packers have become more of a run-first offense.

Jacobs is currently fourth in the NFL with 1,216 rushing yards, third in rushing attempts with 278, fifth in rushing yards per game with 81.1, and tied for second amongst running backs with 13 rushing touchdowns.

In addition to his production on the field, Jacobs has been a stalwart in the community, just as Jones was before him.

Christmas time is always interesting around the NFL and on social media because gifts that some players, particularly quarterbacks, get for their teammates often go viral.

Such was the case of Jacobs and his luxurious gifts for the Packers offensive linemen, who have blocked for him on his way to one of the best seasons of his career:

As one can see from the post above, Jacobs posted a video to his Instagram account of diamond chains of each number of Green Bay’s offensive linemen.

The Packers currently have nine offensive linemen on their 53-man roster, so one can imagine that this gift cost quite a bit. With a $12 million annual salary, though, Jacobs can certainly afford it.
