BREAKING: NFL Posts 4-Word Message Ahead of Chiefs-Steelers Christmas Day Game

The NFL is venturing into uncharted territory in Week 17, as they’ve scheduled two Christmas Day games on Wednesday—both of which will be streamed live on Netflix. This marks the first time in NFL history that a game will be streamed on the platform.

These two matchups carry significant implications for the playoff race. The Kansas City Chiefs will visit Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at 1 p.m. EST, followed by the Baltimore Ravens facing the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Ahead of the Chiefs-Steelers game, the NFL posted a four-word message to hype fans up for the major showdown, emphasizing that the game will be available on Netflix. This is an interesting development, as more games continue to be streamed on alternate platforms, a shift that has sparked mixed reactions among NFL fans.

“It’s a Christmas clash.” NFL posted, while adding a detailed description of the matchup.

“This Christmas Day: The Kansas City Chiefs, led by the electrifying Patrick Mahomes, face the relentless Pittsburgh Steelers. With Russell Wilson commanding the Steel City, explosive plays and playoff dreams collide. This isn’t just a game–it’s a battle for gridiron glory. Chiefs. Steelers. Christmas Gameday.”

Fans certainly have reacted in mixed ways to the game being played on Netflix.

“What’s the point of YouTube tv if you’re gonna make people get Amazon, Netflix, peacock and whatever else.” A fan said.

“Praying to Sweet Baby Santa that we won’t have the same problems streaming as we did during that sham of a boxing match…” Another fan reacted after Netflix hosted the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight.

A fan commented. “Watch Netflix crash or buffer each game.”

“Hopefully I’ll get to watch this Netflix live event unlike the last one.” One more fan said.

While many fans aren’t happy about the game not being broadcast on national television, there’s no doubt people will still tune in, as the matchup carries significant weight.

If the Chiefs win, they will officially clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC and secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. On the other hand, if the Steelers win, they will clinch the AFC North title, holding off the Baltimore Ravens, who are right on their heels with two games remaining.
