BALTIMORE — Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick broke his interception-less streak. It is the first interception he has grabbed in two seasons. Fitzpatrick’s last interception came on New Year’s Day in 2023 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fitzpatrick helped breathe life into the Steelers in this game with the intervention. He is playing strong safety with DeShon Elliott out due to injury. Pittsburgh is down three starters in the secondary with Elliott, Donte Jackson, and Joey Porter Jr. all out due to injuries.
The streak has mired Fitzpatrick, and at least cracking that streak gives him some grace with some in the fanbase. The All-Pro safety had been known as a splash play producer but went nearly two full seasons without getting an interception. Even if it did not end up mattering, for Fitzpatrick personally, it is a show that he can still make plays happen when the Steelers need him in crunch time.
