The Green Bay Packers have big expectations in the 2025 NFL season . Unlike other teams, they don’t have a problem in the most important position in football, with Jordan Love firmly entrenched as their No. 1 starter under center. They also have an elite running back in Josh Jacobs and a promising wide receiving room.
Defensively, though, the Packers can use some more help on the pass rush despite the presence of Rashan Gary , who led the team with 7.5 sacks in the 2024 NFL season.
The offseason gives Green Bay the perfect window to look for help somewhere else, either via a free agent signing or a big trade. On the latter option, Cody Williams of FanSided believes that the Packers are an ideal landing spot in case of a trade for Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson.
Wrote Williams: “And here come the Green Bay Packers ready to make that call. This defense under Jeff Hafley made strides but the most glaring need still there is a pass rush on the edge that has Rashan Gary and question marks. Green Bay would obviously have to get aggressive, especially if they’re going to outbid the rival Lions. But for a move that could be a separator between playoff team and Super Bowl contender for the Packers, wouldn’t making such a deal be well worth it?”
Hendrickson to the Green Bay Packers?

A four-time Pro Bowler, Hendrickson is virtually going to be a big addition to any team. He is coming off a huge 2024 season with the Bengals, as he collected a total of 17.5 sacks.
That was the second year in a row that he had as many quarterback takedowns, and at just 30 years old, he must have multiple good years ahead of him. However, his contract saga continues with the Bengals, who have yet to sign him to an extension, leading to seemingly endless rumors about a potential trade.
According to Spotrac, Hendrickson has an annual market value of $31.5 million , which is steep, but it’s a price Green Bay can find a way to acquire and sign one of the best players in the NFL today.
