My teammates and I are deeply saddened by the recent heartbreaking event involving Daise, a dog we rescued and adopted a year ago.
Daise quickly became a beloved part of our lives, and we were overjoyed when we discovered she was expecting her first litter of puppies.
We eagerly prepared for their arrival, but our happiness turned to heartbreak when Daise experienced a difficult and tragic labor, resulting in the loss of both puppies.
The labor was lengthy and painful, and although we tried to help Daise as much as possible, there was little we could do.

Witnessing the loss of her puppies was devastating, and Daise was left weak and exhausted. Once full of life, her eyes were now filled with confusion and sorrow as she lay next to the lifeless forms of her pups.
We did our best to comfort her, yet her grief was overwhelming. Daise could not bear to leave her stillborn puppies, staying protectively by their side and gently licking them as if trying to revive them.
Her strong maternal instinct made the loss even more heart-wrenching.

Typically gentle and compliant, Daise showed an unusual determination, guarding her pups even after their death. She refused to part from them and attempted to dig them up when we tried to lay them to rest.
We had to gently restrain her, holding her close to offer solace as she mourned.
Daise’s refusal to eat or drink reflected the depth of her grief, and her pain was palpable to us all. In the following days, we surrounded her with love and care, hoping that time would bring healing.

Despite the overwhelming loss, Daise’s strength and profound love for her puppies are a powerful testament to the bond between a mother and her offspring.
As we support her through this difficult journey, we acknowledge that healing is a gradual process. With our unwavering support, we trust that Daise will eventually find a way to move forward.
Her story serves as a reminder of the enduring power of unconditional love, even when faced with profound loss.
