Twins News!! Shocking Report Surfaces as Twins Spiral Continues

Surprising report emerges amid Twins’ tailspin

The Minnesota Twins will not be moving on from manager Rocco Baldelli anytime soon.

The Twins have been on a downward spiral since the team’s season-best 13-game win streak ended in May. Since then, the team has had an 11-21 record and has lost 14 of its last 17 contests. The tailspin has led to questions about Baldelli’s job security.

However, a report from The Athletic’s Dan Hayes indicated that Baldelli is far from “immediate danger.” Per the report published Monday, the Twins even picked up the veteran skipper’s club option for the 2026 season.

Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey spoke to Hayes about Baldelli. While Falvey did not confirm anything about the longtime manager’s contract situation, he did express his support for the “work” Baldelli has been putting in to try to turn things around.

“It’s just making sure no one runs away from the work that is right in front of him, and Rocco is not running away from any of the work,” Falvey said.

“My focus has been on how do I support him with that, because I do believe he’s got the players’ best interests at heart, and he’s trying to figure out how to solve a challenging equation that we’re all trying to navigate through. He’s not alone in that. We’re all side by side with him, as is the staff and as our core players. We’re trying to figure it out together.”

Baldelli is in his seventh season as the Twins’ manager. The team morphed into a contender during his first year at the helm, winning 101 games to run away with the AL Central crown in 2019. Minnesota also made the playoffs the following season.

But the Twins have been on the treadmill of mediocrity since their 2020 Wild Card round exit. From 2021 to 2024, Baldelli led Minnesota to a combined 320-328 record.
