ALLEN, Texas — Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin is facing misdemeanor charges after he was arrested Saturday, reports say.
ESPN.com reports Turpin has been charged in Collin County with possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces) and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was released from the Collin County Jail after posting a $1,500 bond.
WFAA Channel 8 reports the Cowboys have not commented on Turpin’s arrest. The 28-year-old receiver/returner recently signed a three-year contract extension worth $18 million.
Turpin was an NFL All-Pro in 2024 after leading the league with a kick-return average of 33.5 yards. Turpin was the only player in the league last year to return both a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns, ESPN reports.
As a receiver, he had 31 receptions for 420 yards.
WFAA reports that Turpin has been arrested in the past. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to assaulting his girlfriend, WFAA reports. He was arrested a second time in 2018 on a charge of misdemeanor battery involving a household member in Las Cruces, New Mexico, WFAA reports.
