Current, former Packers players on CFL’s negotiation lists

A pair of current Green Bay Packers players and several former players were named among the CFL’s nine exclusive negotiation lists, which were made public on Wednesday. Each of the CFL’s nine teams can place up to 45 players on their respective negotiation list, giving the team exclusive negotiating rights with the players. The players can be currently in the NFL, a different professional football league, or in college. Note: the lists are subject to change, and teams can trade the negotiation rights to players.

Being on a list signifies a level of interest in the player from the CFL team. It does not guarantee a signing, but instead provides a negotiation right should the player become available or have interest in joining the CFL.

Here are the current and former Packers on the opening list Wednesday:

Current players

  • Cornerback Gregory Junior (Hamilton Tiger-Cats)

  • Offensive lineman Brant Banks (Hamilton Tiger-Cats)

Junior, a sixth-round pick of the Jaguars in 2022, signed with the Packers in May. He’ll compete for a roster spot as a backup at cornerback, a position with plenty to get figured out during training camp.

Banks was an undrafted free agent signed out of Rice following the 2024 draft. While likely a long shot to make the roster, he’ll have a chance to earn a coveted practice squad spot this summer.

It’s possible Junior or Banks could sign with the Tiger-Cats if they don’t stick in Green Bay and can’t find an opportunity elsewhere for the 2025 season.
