The Pittsburgh Steelers are closing in on signing a quarterback, and that quarterback is none other than Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers.
According to the NFL Network, Rodgers is going to sign a one-year deal with the team ahead of next week’s mandatory minicamp.

The Packers Travel to Pittsburgh in Week 8
With the way the schedule is set up and with Rodgers heading to Pittsburgh, the Green Bay Packers will have the opportunity to face their old quarterback this season.
Specifically, this game will take place on Sunday Night Football in Week 8 (October 26th) in front of the entire football world.

Much like when a young Aaron Rodgers and the Packers traveled to face Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings on a Monday night in 2009, young Jordan Love will lead the Packers against his former mentor in Rodgers, in prime time.
What Happened the Last Time the Packers Faced the Steelers?
The last time the Packers faced off against the Steelers, it was a close game with Pittsburgh getting the win in the end.
This matchup occurred in November of 2023, and it was one of the most significant road starts of the season for Jordan Love.

While the Packers ultimately lost, Love had his moments of greatness against one of the league’s best defenses.
He threw for 289 yards and a couple of touchdowns while also battling back from a couple of interceptions and a double-digit deficit.
Pittsburgh forced a couple of key red zone turnovers late in the game and ended up securing the 23-19 victory.
Of course, that game took place when the Packers were younger and a bit more unproven, which is not exactly the case right now.
Fresh off two consecutive playoff appearances and a total of 21 wins (including playoffs) over the course of 2023 and 2024, the Packers are coming for a Super Bowl.
The Steelers, with the addition of Rodgers, are now playoff contenders with a chance to win 10+ games once again.
This game will have plenty of drama and headlines surrounding it for certain, which is why all NFL fans are going to want to tune in to witness one of the NFL’s greatest players take on his former team.
