REPORT: Wild Packers-Jalen Ramsey trade proposal might actually work

New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers seem content with their current cornerback room following Jaire Alexander’s departure, but what if there were a way to trade for Jalen Ramsey?

It remains unlikely, and the Packers typically don’t trade for veteran players due to their contract and the draft picks they’d have to part with.

But what if there was a wild solution that could benefit both the Packers and the Miami Dolphins?

Mitch Milani of Bleacher Report may have found a perfect solution. He put together a video of potential Ramsey trade packages, and his Packers-Dolphins deal feels like a win-win.

Milani pitches a trade that sees Ramsey head to Green Bay in exchange for wide receiver Romeo Doubs and a 2026 sixth-round pick.

It’s wild, but it actually makes sense.

A wild Jalen Ramsey-Romeo Doubs trade could work out perfectly for the Packers and Dolphins

Win-win trades don’t come around often, but this could fall into that category. Let’s first break down why it would work for the Packers.

Doubs is undoubtedly a key player in Matt LaFleur’s offense, but his target share may decrease further this season with the addition of first-round pick Matthew Golden and third-rounder Savion Williams. The key note is that Doubs is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

His future has already come into question this offseason, and Green Bay would be smart to consider its options instead of losing him for nothing in next year’s free agency.

Ramsey would address a greater need while giving the Packers some of that all-in, championship-contending urgency they desperately require.

The seven-time Pro Bowler is still an excellent starting cornerback. Per Pro Football Reference, in his two seasons with the Dolphins, Ramsey allowed just 59.1 percent of passes to be completed for 721 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions for a 71.8 rating.

That works.

Miami may want a higher draft pick in return for Ramsey, but it has lost leverage since we all know the All-Pro cornerback has no future with the team.

Doubs would provide some much-needed consistency in the Dolphins’ passing game, especially with Tyreek Hill also facing an uncertain future beyond this season.

Tua Tagovailoa needs a consistent receiver he can find quickly, especially if Miami’s offensive line doesn’t take the step forward it hopes.

Tight end Jonnu Smith became Tagovailoa’s go-to target late last season, and he, too, faces an uncertain future. The Dolphins have reportedly had conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers about a trade for Smith.

That would leave Tua in need of another reliable pass-catcher, a problem Doubs could solve.

Green Bay can’t keep every wide receiver, while Miami will soon trade Ramsey. Player-for-player trades don’t happen too often and they rarely result in both teams winning, but this could become a rare exception.
