The Pittsburgh Steelers watched T.J. Watt leave the game in their one-sided loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

After dropping one of the biggest games of the regular season to the Eagles, the Steelers and their fans instantly turned their focus to star linebacker T.J. Watt — who left the game late in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury, as confirmed by head coach Mike Tomlin.

The injury looked to be non-contact as the linebacker charged toward Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, which instantly caused some extra concern as Watt was attended to on the sideline. Tomlin spoke to the media, saying that it was a low-ankle injury, as posted by USA Today’s Josh Carney on X. The Steelers head coach added that he will have more information the next time he speaks to the media.

Underdog Fantasy’s James Palmer provided an update, saying that Watt confirmed it was a rolled ankle and that the X-rays came back negative — which is good news for Steelers fans.

Despite the tough loss to the Eagles on Sunday, Watt provided plenty of impact defensively — recording two sacks in the game. Overall on the season, the 2021 AP Defensive Player of the Year has 11.5 sacks on the campaign.

Pittsburgh will hope to see Watt back on the field next Saturday when they take on their AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens in a game that should go a long way into deciding who wins the division this season.
