The Green Bay Packers have some considerable pieces of business to which they must attend this offseason that will shape the future of the franchise for years to come.

Among those calls is whether to extend offensive tackle Zach Tom, and for how much.

Tom was among the very best tackles in the NFL in 2024, regardless of right or left side, though his success will push his price point upward this summer as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract.

“We’ve had really healthy conversations with Zach about locking him up, and certainly that’s something we’d like to do,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said on Wednesday, June 18. “These things take time, and they never happen very quickly. He’s been a really good player for us since the time he got here, done everything right by us, so hopefully we’ll get there soon.”

Spotrac projects Tom’s market value at $86.7 million over a new four-year contract, which would make him among the highest-paid right tackles in the NFL.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranked Tom as the fourth-best tackle in football out of 140 players who saw enough snaps at the position to qualify with an overall grade of 87.5.

He finished 12th in pass-blocking grade in 2024, per PFF, and third in run-blocking grade among all tackles.

Green Bay drafted Tom out of Wake Forest in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft (No. 140 overall).
