The celebrations for Tom Brady in Foxborough will continue this summer when the New England Patriots unveil a statue in his honor.
The team announced it will honor the former quarterback on Aug. 8 when a 12-foot bronze statue is unveiled outside of Gillette Stadium before the Patriots play the Washington Commanders in a preseason game.
The Patriots made the announcement via a social media video that included highlights from Brady’s time in New England that spanned two decades and included six Super Bowl championships.
The statue is just the latest way the Patriots will honor Brady.
In 2023, Brady was honored during a Week 1 halftime ceremony after he officially retired from the NFL. He opened the game by ringing the bell atop the Gillette Stadium lighthouse before he ran down the sideline like he used to prior to each game, shouting his signature, “Let’s go!” to the crowd.
The Patriots retired his No. 12 in June 2024, and was inducted into the team Hall of Fame after owner Robert Kraft announced he was going to waive the four-year waiting period.
