What to know about Sunday night’s Packers, Seahawks game; pep rally planned for Saturday night

The Green Bay Packers will play another game in prime time, this time on Sunday after two Thursday night games in a row.

They’ll take on the Seattle Seahawks at 7:20 p.m. Sunday at Lumen Field.

Here is what you need to know about the game:

Packers pep rally planned

Packers Everywhere will hold a pep rally at 6 p.m. Saturday at Gantry Public House, 904 Occidental Ave. S. in Seattle. Gantry Public House will open at 2 p.m.

Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy will participate in a question-and-answer session with Packers Everywhere host Rebecca Zaccard. Packers alumni Mark Lee and Ken Ruettgers will socialize with fans and share their thoughts on the game. Packers.com’s Wes Hodkiewicz will discuss the game to conclude the event.

What is the weather forecast for the Packers game Sunday night?

It’s Seattle, so it should be no huge surprise that there’s a chance of showers on Sunday night. After a high near 47 during the day, temperature will drop to a low of 38 Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service Seattle. This is the forecast as of Wednesday afternoon, so conditions could change.

Rashan Gary of the Green Bay Packers sacks the Seattle Seahawks’ former quarterback Russell Wilson on Nov. 14, 2021, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Packers shut out the Seahawks 17-0.

Will the Packers be wearing their all-white uniforms?

The Packers hinted at the possibility of bringing back the all-white uniforms they wore in week 7 against the Houston Texans in a game Green Bay won on a last-second field goal 24-22.

However, nothing official has been announced. The NFL restricts alternate uniforms and helmets to three games a season. So far the Packers have worn the all-white unis against the Texans and the all-green uniforms on Nov. 3.

Will the Seahawks wear alternate uniforms?

Yes. The team announced Wednesday it would be wearing its “action green” uniform on Sunday night. “These uniforms are typically reserved for night games as they have only been worn when the Seahawks are playing in prime time, so the Sunday Night Football in-conference matchup vs. the Packers matchup was the perfect opportunity to wear them for the first time this season,” according to Seahawks.com.

The last time Seattle wore this uniform was in 2022 season on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos — a game the Seahawks won.

Lumen Field highly regarded among NFL stadiums

Ford Field ranked 1st and 8th among the NFL’s best stadiums in two USA TODAY features, one by individual writers with experience at stadiums, and the other a poll of six sportswriters.

The individual writers ranked Lumen Field 8th, with Caroline Darney writing, “One of the best things about Lumen Field is the location. Close – like, very walkable – from downtown Seattle, Lumen is nestled by the water and also hosts MLS’s Seattle Sounders and NWSL’s Seattle Reign. It has a wonderful variety of local brews, and features food and beverage from Seattle originals like Ivar’s and Starbucks, as well as poke bowls, something called Sasquatch fries and chicken and biscuits. The game experience is electric with 72,000 ’12s’ cheering their support. Highly recommend a trip to not only Seattle, but Lumen as well.”

In the other survey, where it ranked 1st, reporter Nate Davis wrote, “It’s a retroactive crime that the team and its rabid 12s were stuck in the concrete Kingdome for nearly a quarter-century — though maybe they got even by propagating the wave throughout the sporting world. Moving on. Lumen Field’s gorgeous architecture, reverberating cacophony when the Seahawks are good (it redirects off the cantilevered roof that covers most of the seats down onto the playing field), wet weather, proximity to downtown Seattle (which can be seen beyond the ‘Hawks’ Nest’ seating behind the north end zone, where the most caffeinated 12s convene), the interior shrine to Washington’s high school football teams — save natural grass, it’s basically everything you’d want in a stadium.”

Packers-Seahawks game will be broadcast on NBC

Mike Tirico will do play-by-play and Cris Collinsworth will provide analysis. Melissa Stark will be on the sidelines.

“Sunday Night Football” is a nationally televised game on NBC, so it will be available everywhere.

Seahawks game will be available on Packers Radio Network

Packers games can be heard on the Packers Radio Network, made up of 54 stations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, North Dakota and South Dakota. 97.3 The Game, WRNW-Milwaukee, is the flagship station of the Packers Radio Network. For a full listing of radio affiliates, visit packers.com/video/radio-network. Wayne Larrivee (play-by-play) and two-time Packers Pro Bowler Larry McCarren (analyst) are in their 26th season of calling the action together.

Packers.com will stream the team’s radio broadcast worldwide to desktop users. The Packers mobile app also will stream the radio broadcast within the Packers’ home market, per NFL broadcast restrictions. The broadcast will start with the pre-game show at 5:02 p.m. Central Time.
