Stefon Diggs was introduced to New England as one of the biggest signings of the NFL offseason, inking a three-year deal worth up to $63.5 million, per Spotrac.
Instead, as the offseason moved into late May, Diggs found himself at the center of a media storm.
Last week, the now-infamous “Stefon Diggs boat video” began to surface, with fans speculating about why Diggs would be at a boat party, alongside rumored girlfriend Cardi B, instead of participating in voluntary organized team activities (OTAs).

His absence from OTAs, combined with the viral video, triggered talk of Diggs potentially getting cut from the Patriots.
On Saturday, as NFL rumors continue to swirl, Diggs broke his social-media silence with a montage of images spanning his last month of recovery and rehab, alongside the caption, “to the month of May, I appreciate you none the less… gotta stay focused 🤞🏾.”
Diggs arrived in Foxborough recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered with the Houston Texans in October 2024, and his presence was meant to signal a cultural reset under new head coach Mike Vrabel, who took over after New England’s 4-13 finish in 2024.
Vrabel later confirmed that the organization was aware of the video but declined to elaborate, saying only, “We want to make great decisions on and off the field.”
Insider Scott Zolak, a former Patriots quarterback turned analyst, indicated that the boat incident “isn’t the only thing” under review and that cutting Diggs remains on the table given various behavioral questions.

Over 10 NFL seasons split between the Minnesota Vikings (five), Buffalo Bills (four) and Houston (one), Diggs has amassed 10,491 receiving yards and 70 touchdowns on 857 career receptions.
His greatest years came in Buffalo, where he posted four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, including a league-leading 1,535 receiving yards and 127 receptions in 2020.
With the Bills, he collected four straight Pro Bowl selections and a First-team All-Pro nod in 2020.
