Packers predicted to add 6'1, 7.5-sack stud to upgrade defense | Sporting News

The Green Bay Packers are building something special.

Green Bay has young talent all throughout the roster. The Packers are 9-4 on the season and have a real chance to make some noise in the playoffs this season. Even if the Packers don’t win the Super Bowl this year, though, they should be able to contend for the foreseeable future.

The Packers could still use more talent on defense, though, and CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso predicted that Green Bay will select LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. with the No. 26 pick in the 2025 National Football League Draft in his latest mock draft.

“When healthy, Perkins would give the Packers speed and positional flexibility in the front seven of their defense,” Trapasso said.

Trapasso had Perkins ranked as the 17th overall prospect for the upcoming draft and the No. 1 ranked linebacker who will be available. He has only appeared in four games this season, but there’s a lot to like about him.

He had 7.5 sacks as a freshman and 5.5 sacks last year as a sophomore. Green Bay could use an upgrade at linebacker and Perkins could be a good guy to build around for the future on the defense.

There are still four weeks left in the regular season so everything could change. Green Bay could go 4-0, 0-4, or anywhere in between. It certainly will have an impact on the team’s draft positioning, but this is a good idea by Trapasso.
