Jerry Jones is a larger than life, charismatic character. Jones, 82, has been the owner of the Dallas Cowboys since 1989. Jones, who remains actively involved in the football decisions for his team, has brought a large amount of success to the franchise.
Since Jones purchased the team, they have won three Super Bowls (1992, 1993, and 1995). While the Cowboys have had many winning seasons since, with multiple playoff runs, they have yet to make it back to the promised land.

Jones always appears hopeful his team is in the best position to win heading into every season. With quarterback, Dak Prescott, under center, the offense generally looks dynamic. Prescott and wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, have created a fantastic connection and continue to put up big numbers whenever both are on the field.
Prescott’s problem is just that, staying healthy and on the field. Since 2019, Prescott has played a full season just once. He tore his hamstring during Week 9 of the 2024 season and continues to work his way back to the field. There is no official timeline for his return, but when he does, he’ll have another offensive weapon waiting for him.
The Cowboys traded a 2026 third-round pick this offseason for WR, George Pickens. On Tuesday, Prescott revealed how he heard about the Pickens trade when talking to reporters, impersonating Jones in hilarious fashion.
“I was away from my phone for a couple of hours, and when I go back to it, I had six missed calls from Jerry’s assistant. And actually, a voicemail from Jerry,” Prescott said.
Prescott then decided to do his impersonation of Jones’ voice.
“Hey I got some good news I wanna share with you,” Prescott said with a wry smile.
“He was excited, and he was just telling me that it happened and it’d be released that night,” Prescott said of the Pickens trade.
A reporter then asked Prescott if he’d do the “Jerry voice” again.
“No, no, one time,” Prescott said.
The Cowboys have been in search of a No. 2 WR for quite some time, and they believe they’ve found that in Pickens. Pickens will line up on the opposite side of Lamb, giving Prescott two former 1,000-yard WRs at his disposal when he returns from injury.
Whether Prescott is on the field or not, the Cowboys will kick-off their 2025 NFL season against the defending champion, Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4, 2025.
