The past two offseasons have seen the Green Bay Packers significantly bolster the talent level on offense, complementing a young and ascending core around young and ascending quarterback Jordan Love.
From breaking organizational character by signing former rushing champion Josh Jacobs last offseason to drafting burner Matthew Golden in the first round to add a field-stretching element to Love’s supporting cast, the Packers seem intent on giving their 26-year-old quarterback all the pieces he needs to succeed.
As the 2025 season nears, the Packers’ offense could be primed to mount a legitimate charge at the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North.
Why Optimism is Surging for Green Bay Packers Offense

With Love returning to health, and Golden’s arrival in an offense that led the league with 38 explosive plays last season, the Packers have a clear plan to capitalize on Love’s prime.
“You want to make sure that you’re giving Matt [LaFleur] the flexibility to attack all different levels of the field, and I think a guy like Golden does that,” Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan recently said. “He’s [got] speed, he can get vertical, he can beat you underneath, and he’s got tremendous ball skills and hands.”

Over at Bleacher Report, Brent Sobleski ranked every offense across the NFL, with the Packers coming in eighth. The only team ranked higher within the NFC North than Green Bay, was the Detroit Lions’ offense.
Green Bay did add two significant pieces to the lineup,” Sobleski points out for B/R “First, the organization spent big to acquire Aaron Banks. His $77 million contract was the second-largest among available interior blockers. Banks will slide into left guard, which will move Elgton Jenkins over the ball and upgrade at center.
“The team also did the near-unthinkable by drafting a wide receiver in the first round for the first time since 2002. Matthew Golden adds an explosive target to Jordan Love’s repertoire.”
Golden should throw LaFLeur’s playbook wide open and could give Love the chance to flash the arm strength that helped the Packers lead the league in explosive plays last season.
It seems, with another year of seasoning for Love, Kraft’s continued emergence as a game-changing weapon over the middle, Jacobs’ dominance on the ground and Golden’s speed creating opportunities for all of the weapons to feast, that optimism may never have been higher for what the Packers’ offense could become in 2025.
