If you’re hoping Tom Brady will be on the FOX airwaves for one of the two games the Patriots will play on the network this season, it’s looking unlikely.
Last season, the organization had held out hope that the Greatest Of All Time would return to New England for the unveiling of a 12-foot statue at Gillette Stadium, but Robert Kraft and company pushed that back to this season, optimistic that Brady, now the top in-game analyst for FOX Sports, would be on hand.
After the Patriots’ 2025 schedule was unveiled last week, it was determined that the team would only play two games on FOX this season, so the chances we’ll see Brady in the Gillette broadcast booth don’t appear to be good.
Is it impossible? No. But is it unlikely? Yes. But FOX broadcast windows in which the Patriots play on the network are of the regional variety, so perhaps Patriots fans should cross their fingers.
The Patriots will likely have only two chances of getting Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium this season
Week 4 vs. Carolina – 1 p.m.
It doesn’t appear that a battle between two teams that finished last in their respective divisions last season will entice FOX to send their top broadcast team to New England. With the Patriots’ first three games coming against the Raiders, Dolphins, and Steelers, New England should come into this game 2-1 at worst.
Carolina opens with Jacksonville, Arizona, and Atlanta so that the Panthers could be staring down the barrel of 0-3. The 1:00 game featuring Philadelphia and Tampa Bay sounds more enticing on paper.
Week 8 vs. Cleveland – 1 p.m.
Let’s face it. The Browns are the NFL’s biggest punching bag right now, and the only way FOX sends Brady and Kevin Burkhardt to New England for this game is if Shedeur Sanders is Cleveland’s starting quarterback, and that’s a big if.
But, the other 1 p.m. matchups in FOX’s window in Week 8 – Buffalo at Carolina, Philadelphia at the Giants, and San Francisco at Houston – aren’t exactly the sexiest of matchups.
The best chance of seeing Brady in the Foxboro booth will likely come in Week 8, if the Patriots get off to a great start.
So, when will the statue go up?
Hopefully, the 12-foot statue of No. 12 goes up sooner rather than later. The Krafts almost certainly feel that way as well.
But the unveiling of such a statue loses its luster without the guest of honor in attendance, so the Patriots and their fans continue to wait. Hopefully, that won’t be the case much longer.
