The Green Bay Packers are busily preparing for a big matchup on Sunday Night Football with the NFC West leading Seattle Seahawks. At 9-4, the Packers are trying to improve their Wild Card standing after their 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions all but eliminated them from being able to win the NFC North.
The Seahawks, at 8-5, hold a one-game lead over the 7-6 Los Angeles Rams in their division.
As is the case every week, NFL teams make changes to their rosters. Most of these changes are small and usually involve their practice squads. Such was the case today when the Packers brought back a familiar face.
The Green Bay Packers Signed Michael Jordan to Their Practice Squad
Per the Packers’ website, Green Bay signed offensive guard Michael Jordan to their practice squad. Jordan previously was on the Packers’ practice squad in 2023. However, he spent most of this season with the New England Patriots, where he started 11 games. He was released on December 3.
“The Green Bay Packers signed OL Michael Jordan to the practice squad and released T Spencer Rolland from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Monday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.”
After being cut following training camp in 2021, Jordan signed with the Carolina Panthers. He played two seasons there, appearing in 28 games, 10 of which were starts.
The Panthers released Jordan after training camp in 2023. He was promptly picked up by the Packers, who kept him on their practice squad all season.
Instead of re-signing with Green Bay, Jordan elected free agency and went to the Patriots. Even though he did not make their 53-man roster, he was signed to their practice squad and frequently elevated for games. His 11 starts this year are a career-high.
